####Gatorade Bottle Project: From Icosahedron to Dodecahedron, Platonic Duals Update: With the help of my math class (future math teachers), we created a massive dodecahedron model with the icosahedron at its center. It is as impressive as the history and math behind the Platonic Solids. Starting with an icosahedron and 20 Gatorade or similar bottles, we can create a huge dodecahedron model, showing the duality between the icosahedron and the dodecahedron. If you want to start with a dodecahedron and 12 bottles, please refer to https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3814286 ####Note The icosahedron, with 20 equilateral triangular faces, is very close to a sphere. To accommodate a Gatorade bottle, it has to be huge. Even at 0.2mm and 2% infill, it takes about 18 hours and 90 meters of filament. However, it leads to an impressive structure. So, if you really want to make it, make sure you get the most out of the cost: Make, Have Fun, and Share. ####References 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platonic_solid 2. http://demonstrations.wolfram.com/DualsOfPlatonicSolids/ 3. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3814286
