Gator the Alligator - CT scan

This is an alligator model scanned with Computer Tomography technology. The source dataset is available at https://people.ohio.edu/witmerl/DinoSinuses_main.htm. Among the stack were an Ostrich head and two dinosaur skulls, but I prefer to work with this Gator. I segmented the soft tissues and skull bones along with the first cervical vertebrae, then converted them into a single STL file. I scaled the model 1/10 because its large head wouldn't fit on my printer. This isn't "art" in the classical sense; it's a precise 3D reconstruction based on real morphological data of an actual animal.
