The SLS 5 is a super lightweight 5" concept, designed around 20x20 stacks and ~20g 2204 motors. Keep in mind that this frame is specifically intended for ultralight setups, so your choice of components should be adjusted accordingly. Frame Specs ---------------------- * Weight: 50g, including steel hardware and Canopy (sub-200g builds are no problem) * Stretch-x * 20x20 stack mounts * Pod with slot for linear antenna and space for 19mm cams Required Hardware -------------------------------- * 2x M3x16 * 6x M3x14 * 8x M3 nut (get some alloy ones to save weight) * 1x M3x8 grub screw (optional) How to Get the Carbon Parts ------------------------------------------ The STL files are included in this post for testing purposes. To make the frame usable, you'll need to send the DXF files to a CNC service and have the carbon parts cut. * 1x Bottom Plate (4mm) * 2x Topplate (2mm) * 4x Arms (4mm), ensure they're cut along the weave Popular CNC Services: * USA: [CNC Madness](http://www.cncmadness.com) * Germany: [AHLTec](https://www.ahltec.de) * France: [CNCDrone](https://www.facebook.com/CNCDrone) * You can also buy the frame directly from [Armattan Productions](https://armattanproductions.com/pages/kit_detail/2229) They typically charge around $30. **Update:** For Europe, you can now purchase a complete Frame from [Smartshapes](https://www.smartshapes.de/de/?cat=c59_Gatehunter-gatehunter.html). My Recommended Setup ============================== * **Motors:** Unfortunately, there aren't many motor options for this kind of build, and none of them are cheap. I recommend the Xnova 2204 2500kV, Proton-X 2204-2750kv, Hyperlite 2204 Floss Series 2522KV, or Rotorama's Katana 2204. * **Camera:** To save extra grams, use one of the new 14mm cams, which come with an adapter to fit the 19mm mounts! * **Stack:** The Mamba F405 Mini is the best choice if you're on a budget. Diatone has the best board layouts in my opinion. If you have a more comfortable budget, consider the F722 Mini with its amazing 6S 30A rating. * **RX:** The XM is a super small and cheap FrSky RX that I use on all builds where I don't need Crossfire. * **VTX:** The best budget option is this [cheap alternative to TBS nano](http://bit.ly/2JHV1mL) or the Original TBS Nano32. * **Props:** The very light T-Motor 5143 are the best prop for the SLS out of all the ones I tested. In general, these setups need light tri-blade low pitch props. Changelog ======== * 16.09.2019 Release * 16.09.2019 Added V1.1 Arms. They are more durable and slightly shorter
