Gate Lock - Round
thingiverse
Round lock for outdoor use. I was on a mission to find a lock/latch that would fit my backyard gate, but none of them met my requirements - a round, solid, large latch. This design was inspired by the Sliding Door bolt Print fully assembled by Bogul, but I took it in a different direction by making it round so that I could drill a 12mm hole into the other side of the gate without having to print another part. I also designed this lock in three parts because I had trouble printing the others fully assembled. In this design, the bolt slides into the base and then you screw in the bolt handle. Everything fits snugly together but still slides with no effort at all. In the attached photos, I printed only the original base without notches. Instead of printing another base, I cut out the notches out of laziness. Supports are not required when printing this lock, except for the 'base with notches' which would obviously need some supports. I printed using Brims but it may not be necessary. The bolt is 12mm in diameter. The base is 100mm x 50mm. The bolt extends approximately 45mm from the base. I printed this lock in PETG because it was for outdoor use and I wanted to take advantage of its added strength.
