Gatchaman G-Force Battle of The Planets Phoenix
thingiverse
This is a remix of Gentle Giant's Phoenix airplane from the 1970s Japanese anime "Gatchaman" (also known as Science Ninja Team Gatchaman). It was famously rebranded as "Battle of the Planets" in the United States. For more information on this iconic anime, check out its comprehensive Wikipedia article at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_Ninja_Team_Gatchaman. In addition to its animated legacy, a live-action film adaptation of Gatchaman was released in 2013. The movie's trailer can be viewed online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r56XwTGidsU. To print the entire model, I divided it into three separate parts using MeshMixer, allowing for a larger model that can be assembled after printing. When printing the central section of this complex design, I recommend utilizing supports and a raft to ensure stability. Be cautious when removing the rafts, particularly around the delicate fins at the rear and top of the model; even at my printed scale, they proved fragile. After printing all three components, I glued them together using Goop brand multi-purpose adhesive and allowed the adhesive to cure overnight. I would like to extend my gratitude to GentleGiant for creating this 3D model.
