Gaslands Mines & Spikes
thingiverse
Gaslands Mine and Caltrops templates provide a straightforward approach to crafting these explosive devices. To build a basic Mine, gather 1 x 5mm steel ball bearing, 1 x 2" wooden dowel (or similar), 4 x AA batteries, 10 feet of copper wire, 1 x spark gap igniter or equivalent, and a small amount of glue. Assemble the mine by gluing the bearings to one end of the dowel, securing the batteries underneath using copper wire. Attach the spark gap igniter to the other end of the dowel, ensuring it's centered over the battery pack. Finally, cover the entire assembly with tape or electrical tape for protection. To construct a Caltrops, you'll need 4 x 2" wooden dowels (or similar), 1 x metal rod (1/4 inch in diameter and 6 inches long), 10 feet of copper wire, 1 x spark gap igniter or equivalent, and glue. Begin by cutting the dowels into 3-inch lengths. Next, attach a small piece of tape to one end of each dowel segment, leaving about 1/8 inch between them. Wrap the metal rod with copper wire, securing it at both ends with glue. Then, place the wrapped rod on top of the taped dowel segments, ensuring they're evenly spaced and centered over the rod. Finally, attach the spark gap igniter to one end of the dowels using glue and tape. These explosive devices are best deployed in a wide open area to maximize their effectiveness. When detonated, they will create a blast radius that can damage vehicles and personnel within a significant range.
