A gas turbine, also known as a combustion engine or jet engine, is an internal combustion engine that generates mechanical power by harnessing the energy released from burning fuel within a combustion chamber. The high-temperature and high-pressure gases produced by combustion are used to drive a turbine, which in turn powers a generator to produce electricity or directly drives mechanical equipment such as compressors, pumps, and fans.
