I had one end of one of the gas struts that hold the lid open break off of my Suncast BMS4700 horizontal shed when a wind storm flipped it. Rather than replacing the whole strut, I was able to print a new end. Use at your own risk, gas struts are under pressure when compressed, so if this lets go, the strut may expand with significant force on its own. I printed mine out of nylon for strength with a little bit of flexibility.
