Gas Seal for 2in Potato Cannon
cults3d
This is a gas seal engineered for launching projectiles out of a potato launcher, or spud gun, featuring a 2 inch diameter barrel. To maximize its reuse after launch, print with 100% infill. After printing, secure the outside tabs with tape to ensure a tight seal. Although slightly smaller than the diameter of a 2 inch barrel, when wrapped with two layers of scotch tape, it becomes larger and the flexible tabs make an excellent seal against the barrel. The ideal use case is for projectiles that struggle to create a good gas seal on their own, such as golf balls or small limes. Some suitable projectiles include my lollipop stabilizer fins attached to a lollipop: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3667154 and this oversized jumbo pellet: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3667173. A forthcoming Instructable on how to build a spud gun is in the works, and I will post the link here as soon as it's complete.
