Gas Lift Chair Spacer
prusaprinters
I designed this part to stop my office chair from always collapsing to the bottom due to a failed gas lift mechanism. I found that the new mechanisms were not lasting very long, and at any rate I always wanted my chair at a fixed height. This spacer fits around the mechanism - it does not replace it. Should the part fail for any reason you should still have your gas lift mechanism to support the chair. My chair required 50mm outer diameter, 28mm hole, and 119mm long. The two parts fit together using square M3 nuts (if you have a Prusa you will likely have spares already), and 20mm M3 screws.Prints without supports, and I printed standing up with a decent Brim to make sure it didn't detach.I printed this in PLA at 0.3mm layer height, 40% infill using the Grid infill pattern (many thanks to Stefan for this great video on patterns and their strength)
