My Favorite Spare Gas Can Gets a Much-Needed Fix I recently encountered a problem with my trusty 2 1/2 gallon spare gas can - the spout gave out after a year of repairs. The plastic had degraded over time and simply couldn't withstand another repair attempt. The key to a successful fix is to use a gas-proof filament material like nylon. I initially test-printed it in ABS to ensure everything fit properly, then switched to printing with nylon. Despite the fact that the nylon was damp from years of storage, it printed satisfactorily - good enough for this particular job, considering its rough surface. A critical aspect of designing this spare gas can is the internal threads opposing the external threads, which guarantees difficult support regardless of its orientation.
