Garmin Zumo XT Mount for BMW R 1200 GS
thingiverse
This thing is designed to mount your Garmin zumo XT to the BMW 12 mm accessory bar. As a special feature, Garmin's unlocking mechanism is covered and you need to insert your bike key to release the navigation unit. No ultimate theft protection, but perfect for a stop at the gas station. Position the front part flat with the bar opening facing downwards. The rear part should also be printed laying flat on the printer bed, the orientation is less important. Activate & adjust support structures. Increase wall/outline thickness (at least 3). Print both parts with a sturdy filament (special PLA and above recommended). Wrap one single layer (!) of thin self-adhesive rubber tape around the 12 mm bar so the holder won't slip. To assemble I used M4x30 screws (e.g. from BMW's original navigation system mounting unit). Self-locking M4 nuts are highly recommended. Optional is the tiny key that also unlocks the Zumo. Print the key flat on the bed with high resolution (0.1 mm), 100% infill and support.
