The original version was modeled after the Garmin mounts, but I found it unreliable. The screw unscrewed easily since its head rested against the camera's plastic rather than the mount's plastic, and that meant if the camera moved in any way, it would tend to come loose. It came undone three times and on the last time, the camera was saved only by the safety tether I had attached. Also, the camera tended to dip downward as the screw loosened. This version incorporates a 1mm thick layer of plastic on the outer support for the screw to press against. This should reduce the likelihood of it coming loose, but just in case, I'm now using an M4 NYLOCK nut. I've also added a block of support material to prevent the camera from rotating - since it's mounted on a bar, you can simply rotate the entire mount to achieve the same movement. Once mounted, I never want the camera to move, so this seemed like a practical solution. The SCAD modules can be separated and used individually. If you have a different diameter pipe, just change the 28mm measurement at the top to something else before printing. If you make it significantly smaller, you may need to compress the VIRB mount slightly to prevent it from sagging at the edges. I simply add about 1 mm more than my bar so there's just enough room for a couple of layers of electrical tape to provide some friction.
