I designed these models for attaching a Garmin Striker 4 to the crossbar of my Minnesota 3 canoe, and I'm thrilled with how well they're working out. Every single part has been printed and is being used extensively. The clip mount prints flawlessly when placed on the printer plate face-up. You may need to shave this clip slightly to ensure a snug fit with your Striker 4, but any adjustments should be minimal. The battery box was designed specifically for a budget-friendly ($20) lipo battery I picked up online. To make it work seamlessly, you'll likely need to adjust the size to accommodate your particular battery. I crafted the through-hull transducer box to perfectly fit the transducer that came with my Garmin Striker 4. I attached this box to the thinnest part of my Wenonah Minnesota 3 canoe's stern using a waterproof sealant and then filled it with water before inserting the transducer. This setup allows the transducer to function effectively through even the most rugged fiberglass (Kevlar) hulls. I recently put this system to the test in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, and I'm delighted to report that it performed admirably. My only hiccup was when the clip mount broke after I flipped my canoe over onto a rock. This happened because I had been storing the canoe upside down for the night, causing the clip to collide with an uneven rock at just the wrong angle. To prevent this from happening again, I've since redesigned the mount to utilize two screw helm mounts. Lastly, don't forget that you'll need some bolts to secure these pieces together. I highly recommend taking your printed parts to a local hardware store to find the perfect stainless steel bolts and locking nuts – they may cost a few extra cents, but they're well worth it for their durability in marine environments.
