This piece attaches directly to the device and connects with the mount. Utilized with Action Cam Parts (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:649261), it adds options for camera mounting. It can be used to repair a broken mount as well. Review instructions before starting the process. STEP file is included for making modifications. The top locking grooves were adjusted on April 27, 2017 to fit snugly with a more secure locking mechanism. Both STL and STEP files have been updated accordingly. How I Designed This Section To recreate this piece, several steps were taken. Firstly, caliper measurements were obtained from two Garmin Edge devices, which weren't new at the time but fitted perfectly into the OEM mounts. Minor adjustments were made to account for 3D printing manufacturing techniques. The model was designed in Fusion 360. Instructions to Use This Section Avoid using brittle filament types, such as PLA, when printing this part. Also, make sure to print with 100% infill since it's a high stress attachment. Take into account normal plastic shrinkage during the printing process. If you don't do so, the piece will fit loosely.
