Garmin Mount MTB - Shorter stem (Remix)
thingiverse
This is a remix of the Garmin Mount by ScotchE67 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3685146). I was also inspired by the original Garmin support (https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/596570/pn/010-12563-02). This design is for shorter stems, with a length of 50 mm that fits perfectly on my bike's handlebars, as shown in the picture: Garmin Edge 530. I changed the original design from ScotchE67 to incorporate threaded inserts instead of nuts between the quarter turn part and the garmin support part, and also between the two handlebar parts. I kept a screw and a nut between the garmin support and the handlebar-upper parts, as it was impossible to put an insert easily. The threaded inserts used (M3) are from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ruthex%C2%AE-threaded-Press-fit-plastic-ultrasound/dp/B07ZZHL4RY. They are designed for 3D printer parts and can be easily embedded in the holes by heating them with a soldering iron. I used a broken wheel spoke (1,8 mm diameter) as the axle between the upper and lower handlebar parts. To prevent slips on my bike's handlebars, I needed to use a rubber membrane. Alternatively, you can use the rubber piece provided by Garmin with their handlebar mount support. I used a neoprene membrane to fill the space between the Handlebar parts and my bike's handlebar. You will need the following materials: * 3 x Insert M3 * Socket head screw M3X14 * Socket head screw M3x20 * 2 x Flat head screw M3X 4 * M3 nut The Fusion360 file is attached, containing four parts: handlebar_upper, Handlebar_lower , garmin support and the quarter turn. You can also use the original quarter turn from Garmin if you prefer. The design is adaptable to your needs.
