Garmin Etrex interface adapter
thingiverse
In my initial 3D printing project, I printed numerous items from Thingiverse and decided to contribute by designing an adapter for older Etrex GPS units (yellow, 12-channel). This adapter enables connection to a Kenwood D710 for APRS use. The low-cost and dedicated functionality of these GPS devices appealed to me. To create the adapter, you need four flat-head jewelers screws (M4 or smaller) with leads soldered and threaded back through the adapter. Due to the small print size, the third and fourth hole have a key-notch, but it fits snugly once inside the adapter. I increased the left and right tab sizes for better fitment. If you improve this design, please share as I'd appreciate an enhanced version.
