Garmin Dash Cam Snap On Lens Hood
thingiverse
Designed for the Garmin Dash Cam 10 or 20, the lens hood expertly blocks out sun glare from hitting the lens directly. The dashcam's very wide angle is mitigated by the optimized hood design, which provides maximum shade on the lens. You don't need to print all three STL files! Simply check the file names for either v1 or v2. Version 1 prints in one solid piece, while Version 2 prints in two separate pieces that require an M3x10mm screw to secure them together. This configuration should withstand more shear force and last longer when snapping it on and off the camera. Never leave printed PLA exposed to a hot car's interior unless you're aiming for a surreal Salvador Dali look. I've personally printed both versions, and they worked flawlessly. Unfortunately, the person I made them for took them for a test drive and never returned, so I missed the opportunity to photograph them in action! Printer Settings: * Printer Brand: Solidoodle * Printer Model: Solidoodle 4 * Rafting: No rafts were needed. * Supports: Optional, but might be beneficial. * Resolution: Set at 0.3mm for optimal results. * Infill: Printed with a 40% infill for added strength and durability. * Notes: While supports aren't strictly necessary, they can provide additional stability during printing.
