Garmin Dash Cam 20 Headrest Arm
thingiverse
I upgraded from my Garmin Dash Cam 20 to a smaller Garmin Dash Cam 30 and decided to relocate the original camera to the rear window. I needed a mount that could securely attach to the middle headrest of my Tacoma, but evil_k's design wouldn't work for me, so I created a modified version inspired by his original concept. Print Settings: Printer: Flashforge Dreamer Rafts: Not necessary Supports: None required Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 50% Notes: Since this mount is designed for use in a vehicle, it's essential to choose a plastic that can withstand high temperatures. In my case, I used PETg, but ABS or dishwasher-safe PLA could also be suitable options. Post-Printing: You will need: 1 - M4 x 12mm socket head cap screws (longer screws may also work) 1 - M4 nylon lock washer First, ensure the ball fits the camera snugly. It should fit reasonably tightly, similar to the factory-supplied mount. Then, check the fit of the arm on the headrest. You'll need to remove the headrest to install the arm correctly. If you try to slide it over the arm, it will damage the mount. Slide the mount onto the headrest and insert the nylon lock washer into the hex before installing the screw. Tighten just enough to hold the arm in place; don't overtighten with Gorilla glue-like force. Then, add an extra 1/4 turn for added security. Install the camera, plug it in, and you're ready to go! If the arm is slightly too large, you can wrap some tape (duct tape, electrical tape, or gaffer's tape) around the armrest for a perfect fit.
