Garmin 430/530WAAS GPS Data Card Case
thingiverse
Every 28 days, I update my Garmin 430 WAAS GPS system's database information by taking out the proprietary data cards from their installation in my airplane. I then store them in my pockets and head home to download the new data onto these small, 16 MB memory cards, which can only be purchased through Jeppesen Sanderson Aviation Services for a price of $200 each. The process usually involves me taking the GPS units out of the hangar where there's no internet access. To transport them safely without risking damage, I've created a custom case to keep them secure during transportation between my home and the hangar. However, one issue with this case is that its lid can be easily removed, prompting me to consider some modifications to make it more secure. I already have an idea for addressing this problem but need to implement it and ensure it works effectively before updating these files further. I do want to mention that the data cards in the provided pictures are older non-WAAS 4 MB versions rather than the ones currently used by my system.
