Counter-top Challenge Entry #CountertopChallenge This box features ventilation to keep garlic or other foods that need airing from moisture ruining them. Printing with 22-25% fill density and 0mm top and base thickness allows the cover and sides of the box to be printed as grills, facilitating air circulation. Initially developed for electronic boxes, which also require ventilation, I applied this technique to address these needs. Letters and 3D garlic elements enhance the grill design's aesthetic appeal. Experiment with fill percentage for varying grill effects. I adore 3D printing! Instructions To achieve a grilled appearance on the box and cover, print both vertically with 22-25% infill density and 0mm bottom and top thickness. I utilize Cura for slicing. Additionally, specify a 2-4mm shell side wall. Changing filament colours without issue is possible by raising the extruder immediately when printing reaches the upper surface of the cover, using an object to support the bridge. This prevents heat damage near where it stopped. Release the motors and swap the filament, manually feeding in some until colour change begins. Once ready, push X and Y reset buttons, then resume printing with the new colour.
