Gargoyle Fence Topper - Remix
prusaprinters
Levi Sitts provided a great collection of gargoyles (see here : https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/20577-gargoyle-fence-post-toppers ) I wanted to put a couple of them on top of two solar light posts, but my posts have pyramidal tops - not flat. I modified two of the gargoyles to remove the base, and I created a new "post adapter" for my light posts. I attached the gargoyles to the mounting adapters using JB Weld epoxy cement. The prints were made in gray PETG which I hope will hold up for outdoor use. Initially I had planned to paint them, but they looked good unpainted so I left them that way. Of course they may bleach out a bit in sunlight, but if they do I can always paint them later. The OnShape 3D CAD file for the post adapter can be found here: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/e20c9b80fa03e0614a6e5c4e/w/d168fdda997100a66a826978/e/5f56fe5e7ee15f7c2b057b26 Print instructionsPrint in PETG for outdoor use (PLA not recommended for outdoors). I printed on a textured build plate - worked great. Print the gargoyles base down with supports. I scaled up one of the gargoyles to get a better size match. Print the post adapter top down - no supports required. The post adapter has two screw holes for mounting purposes.
