I was searching for a garden hose support replacement part when an idea struck me - why not create my own? By positioning the cartridge closer to the wall, I could significantly reduce the forces exerted on the support. The existing support is designed to accommodate 5mm bolts secured by four washers. To ensure a snug fit, I drilled a hole with a diameter of 25mm in the aluminum rod. A "Starred Fit" was also implemented to allow for multiple sizes of rods to be used. Internal ribs were added to enhance the structure's strength and stiffness. This thoughtful design decision will help maintain stability even under heavy loads. To achieve the desired fit between the aluminum tube and the printed support, I opted for a Vase mode print with no top or bottom layer. The result is a precise "Starred Fit" that ensures a seamless connection.
