Weed block fabric keeps weeds at bay, but its presence also makes it tricky to plant seeds directly into the garden bed. Cutting through the fabric creates an unsightly hole, and stray flaps can get blown around by the wind, causing damage to delicate seedlings. To overcome this challenge, I designed a simple tool that needs to be pressed into the fabric where you want to sow your seeds. This device cuts a precise round opening in the fabric and secures it firmly around the hole. Once your seedlings have grown strong enough, the plastic insert can be removed for reuse next year.
