A 3D printed PLA plastic replacement part for my garden trimmer solved the problem. The part, with increased trigger area for less user fatigue, maintains its dimensions without a hitch. It allows either passing the throttle cable through the pin hole and crimping its tip or drilling a hole for a self-tapping screw via the locating dimple to fasten the throttle cable. So far, it's working perfectly; however, I can't confirm the trimmer make/model due to winter.
