Garden Toad Croaker
thingiverse
This is a "croaking" version of the garden toad scan from pmoews' thing: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:23902. I used Blender to smooth the original STL, which was slightly noisy, and then utilized OpenSCAD to hollow it out, create a flat bottom - although that part got messed up by the smoothing process - and add the triangle nubs for making the croaking noise. If you're not familiar with this concept, simply slide a dowel or stick across the nubs, simulating the sound of a toad's call. It appears to work quite well - perhaps I can upload a video later - but unfortunately, the sound wasn't as deep as I had anticipated for version 1.0. I designed version 2.0 with a slightly smaller and narrower opening along with a slight expansion that might amplify the sound. However, I haven't printed it yet, so please feel free to share your results if you manage to print one. A photo of the painted version has also been included - this was for a pond-themed project at my son's preschool. I hope everyone enjoys themselves!
