Garden Hummingbird Wind Spinner
prusaprinters
<p> </p><p>I love wind spinners. I made this one of a Hummingbird collecting nectar from a flower to put in my garden.</p><p>I have provided two models. The first one can be printed in white PETG and then colored with Sharpie color pens. The second model requires the MK3S with the MMU2S so you can print the four colors (white, black, green, and red) at the same time.</p><p><strong>Assembling the flower spinner</strong>:</p><p>There are five petals that superglued into the flower trumpet hub</p><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:24.99%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/63572/rich_content/80c7fc9f-590f-46bb-9e50-a4633ea4265d/img_6987.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%2220435d2f-c15c-4a1f-b9af-6d975763ad3a%22%2C%22w%22%3A640%2C%22h%22%3A480%7D"/></figure><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:25.52%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/63572/rich_content/0428042d-06b2-4266-a193-b835fed247d0/img_6986a.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%228dff1c47-6af2-4611-b312-8a626d51c3f9%22%2C%22w%22%3A640%2C%22h%22%3A480%7D"/></figure><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:25.13%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/63572/rich_content/8f75605b-9209-4dc6-b262-13ba8ae9e451/img_6988.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%220cb5783b-3ec6-4406-83e7-d9971bc6f114%22%2C%22w%22%3A640%2C%22h%22%3A480%7D"/></figure><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:24.9%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/63572/rich_content/dc64a092-381d-4cdf-bcf3-f174b373ec3c/img_6989.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%228cc74926-bffe-4a03-bc4b-d457e049767d%22%2C%22w%22%3A640%2C%22h%22%3A480%7D"/></figure><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:24.34%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/63572/rich_content/affec153-48fa-4980-aa82-2252d9ad8603/img_6990.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22c346e245-a104-458a-b768-2c622ba8470b%22%2C%22w%22%3A640%2C%22h%22%3A480%7D"/></figure><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:25.24%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/63572/rich_content/1eb89629-8603-477e-b5be-d807910bff5a/img_6991.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%222f800681-cba9-4b9f-9f3f-3986d66846ac%22%2C%22w%22%3A640%2C%22h%22%3A480%7D"/></figure><p><strong>Assembling the spinner shaft:</strong></p><p>Super glue is used to attach the flat section of the shaft to the Hummingbird body. I use clothes pins to hold the shaft while the glue dries. The 10mm spacer is moved down the shaft about 30mm from the end.</p><figure class="image image-style-align-center image_resized" style="width:25.52%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/63572/rich_content/b1d82e59-91f2-49d4-8238-bb1c06d2a13e/img_6979a.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22cc3500a4-6753-4efb-add1-da4539b0ed16%22%2C%22w%22%3A640%2C%22h%22%3A480%7D"/></figure><figure class="image image-style-align-center image_resized" style="width:25.52%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/63572/rich_content/f67853b6-166f-4812-a6c1-b657cc49f69d/img_6978a.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22a128810f-1281-4e6d-972f-1c0b87c798ee%22%2C%22w%22%3A640%2C%22h%22%3A480%7D"/></figure><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:26.07%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/63572/rich_content/f396ac98-fb75-4974-bc08-991bca7d1815/img_6980a.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%228522fc9a-115a-4752-b4a5-00855f71f6a6%22%2C%22w%22%3A640%2C%22h%22%3A480%7D"/></figure><p><strong>Mounting the flower spinner:</strong></p><p>The flower spinner is slid onto the shaft with the flower trumpet facing the Hummingbird. The end cap should fit onto the end of the shaft. The spinner should spin freely. When adjusted correctly, put a drop of super glue on the 10mm spacer and the endcap.</p><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:25.58%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/63572/rich_content/43ef7ce9-d43f-434c-a465-428157d2ea59/img_6980a.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22dedec96c-19a9-4992-8e86-9df7b1150919%22%2C%22w%22%3A640%2C%22h%22%3A480%7D"/></figure><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:24.62%;"><img src="https://media.prusaprinters.org/media/prints/63572/rich_content/cbffe38a-6167-4530-b9a8-9a9e380b9abf/img_6992.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22f929ff90-7dd4-4214-855c-deb365945515%22%2C%22w%22%3A640%2C%22h%22%3A480%7D"/></figure><p><strong>Mounting Pole:</strong></p><p>I've included a model for the mounting shaft, but I have found that they tend to be too flexible in high winds. The 6mm carbon fiber rods ( <a href="https://amzn.to/3hCsY4L">https://amzn.to/3hCsY4L</a> ) are much better.</p><p>As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.</p><figure class="media"><oembed url="https://youtu.be/yrcZlTTPE74"></oembed></figure><figure class="media"><oembed url="https://youtu.be/RqVOIUDZl9c"></oembed></figure>
