Garden Hose to Shower (1/2" IPT) adapter
thingiverse
I needed a specialized adapter for my Jacuzzi tub that would convert a garden hose to showerhead size (1/2" IPT, which is standard in the US). However, I couldn't find what I was looking for. I ended up using an adapter from a garden tub faucet to a garden hose because it had a quick disconnect feature and served as a temporary solution until I could find something that met my needs. Inside this adapter, I inserted a standard garden hose gasket, which can be easily printed out if needed. The Danco 1052 Snap Coupling is a good product that can be used for this purpose: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GP9G860/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. When printing the adapter, I found it best to print it upside down on the shower fitting. However, since I printed it with a brim, it was difficult to get it into the shower hose. To resolve this issue, I heated the thread slightly and it went in smoothly. Unless you are extremely confident in your printer's bridging capabilities, do not print it with the hose side down or the flat surface inside where the hose washer sits will not be flat enough to seal properly. One year later, despite daily use, this adapter is still working well. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Printrbot Simple Metal Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 mm Infill: 45% Notes: I printed this at 45% infill, 0.1mm resolution, and 30 mm/s because I only wanted to print it once. You could probably go lower, but the quality of the threads will affect the seal. It's possible you may not want to go lower on the infill (or even higher) so that the piece can withstand water pressure.
