Garden Hose to Pool Hose Coupler for DIY Heater
myminifactory
I've been itching to build a DIY pool heater for years now. I've got six Intek filter/pumps that barely move enough water for my large pool, so I'm repurposing one as the circulator. I'll connect the pump to a black garden hose - 100 feet long - and use it as a solar heater. To make this work, I needed a way to join the pump's 1.25-inch hoses to the garden hose without cutting it. I didn't want to resort to barbed connectors like some people do; instead, I wanted the hose to stay intact. Since I haven't figured out how to design threads in CAD yet, I'm relying on this awesome pair designed by codemite for the threaded portion. To use this setup, you'll need to print one male and one female coupler each.
