Garden Hose to Pool Hose Coupler for DIY Heater
cults3d
I've been itching to build a DIY pool heater for years now. I've got six Intek filter/pumps on hand, but they're only good for pumping water at a snail's pace in my large pool, so I'm going to repurpose that as the circulator. I'll hook up the pump to a 100-foot black garden hose, which will serve as my solar heater. To do this, I needed a way to connect the pump's 1.25-inch hoses to the garden hose without cutting it. I didn't want to resort to using barbed connectors like some people do; instead, I wanted the hose to remain intact. Since I haven't figured out how to design threads in CAD yet, I'm relying on this awesome pair of threaded couplers designed by codemite for the threaded portion. To use these couplers, you'll need to print one each of the male and female versions. Another Sketchup Model - Debunking the Myth that Sketchup is Useless in 3D Printing
