Garden Hose Spigot Handle
thingiverse
Our garden hose spigot handle broke, so I designed and printed a new one using my 3D printer! It attaches with a screw like the original and works great. If it breaks again, I can simply print another one. Check out this short video to see it in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrMt622zJH4. To print the handle, I used green ABS plastic with 75% infill and 3 shells, a layer height of 0.10 mm, a raft, and no supports. After printing, I had to remove the raft and trim any excess material with snips. Note that for my initial attempt, I used 15% infill and 2 shells, but the square part that fits over the metal mount was too easy to strip. Increasing the infill to 100% caused print failures, so 75% infill struck the right balance.
