Garden Hose 2 way Valve Mounting Block

It's puzzling that no one manufactures mounts for garden hose valves commonly found at home improvement or hardware stores. The affordable valves (*like mine*) work satisfactorily but can't be permanently attached to anything due to a lack of mounting options. Some variants have a small tab with a 3mm hole situated between the legs of the "Y," but it's insufficient for attaching the valve to a surface. Here's my solution, and so far, it has been working perfectly for me. In the picture, it's intentionally mounted at an angle to reduce stress on the blue hose. You can orient it however you need. To attach mine to the post, I used Phillips head decking screws. ## Print Details **Printer:** Creality Ender 3 Pro **Printer Mods:** Insulated Enclosure, upgraded aluminum extruder, glass bed, bed springs and screws **Filament:** Geetech(Sunlu), PETG, black ### mounting_block-valve_body-2way-base-V01-2020 **Wall Thickness:** 1.6mm **Top Thickness:** 1.6mm **Bottom Thickness:** 1.6mm **Infill:** 15% grid **Infill line multiplier:** 1 ### mounting_block-valve_body-2way-top-V01-2020 **Wall Thickness:** 2.4mm **Top Thickness:** 1.6mm **Bottom Thickness:** 1.6mm **Infill:** 100% grid **Infill line multiplier:** n/a ### Both Parts **Temperatures:** 220C / 75C **Nozzle:** 0.4mm **Initial layer height:** 0.2mm **Layer height:** 0.2mm **Initial Fan Speed:** 0% **Regular Fan Speed:** 0% **Regular Fan at Layer:** n/a **Print Speed(LCD):** 60% to 75% set at printer LCD **Adhesion:** 5mm brim + hairspray **Supports:** none **Print Time:** 3 to 3.5 hours Printed on smooth glass using hairspray and a 5mm brim for adhesion. ## Finishing Post-printing clean-up was done on the bottom edges with: **Deburring tool** - for removing brim remnants and finishing the edges **Medium length tapered bead file** - for cleaning up places where the deburring tool wouldn't fit ## How I Designed This Used Tinkercad to create both parts. First, a simple model of the 2-way valve was created. I took measurements off of a valve I had and used those to create the model (`mounting_block-valve_body-2way-valve_model-V01-2020.stl`) which was then used to create the contour. The base was printed first and checked for fitment. Then, the top was printed and required some changes so that the valve handles would clear it when turned.
