The original plan was to build a basic garden fence, welding recycled steel bars which, however, appear unattractive and require painting for rust resistance. Instead, an alternative design using affordable zinc-coated threaded rods from hardware stores is proposed; these resist rust for several years without paint. Threaded rods can be painted or treated with linseed oil lacquer as decoration, and 3D printed rose designs from Thingiverse are suggested. Custom holders can also be created using provided Blender files, where objects are merged via boolean transforms. One hole should not be tapped but drilled with a 5mm drill to secure rods with set-screws. An OpenSCAD version is also available for easier fence closure by drilling through holes and using ordinary nuts on threaded rods. After printing, holes must be tapped, M5 used for 90-degree joints, and side holes for rod securing in holders closing the fence. For maintenance, it's advised to paint zinc-coated rods with linseed oil lacquer or acrylic.
