Garden consevatory chair design
grabcad
The initial concept for the garden/conservatory chair involved merging a parasol and tablet PC into an octagonal deck chair. However, the design evolved into something more refined, drawing inspiration from Chinese ethnic artifacts. This unique outdoor chair features a combination of three iconic designs: a Chinese parasol's octagonal shape, a slatted rocking chair form, and the elegance of a blown wine glass. Key functionality aspects include an integrated light on the main stem, a telescopic footrest, and soft padded arms for comfort. Aesthetically, the chair boasts a carved slatted back rest and seat, all weather-resistant finish, and an octagonal frame in polished mahogany. The seat, back, and footrest slats are crafted from varnished rosewood, inlaid with varnished American beech. Red leather adorns the arm inlays, while a deep red mat stainless steel supports the seat stem. The chair's stem is finished in satin stainless steel, and includes a polished stainless steel spacer-foot rest boss with a decorative gold spiral. The base is designed in satin-finished stainless steel or aluminum for weight reduction, while the footrest frame is made from red polished stainless steel or aluminum. A laminated glass dome completes the chair's elegant and functional design.
