Using 600x900 MDF sheets, we procured 30mm x 1200mm pieces and 30mm x 18mm x 1200mm in three quantities. For the bottom swing part, a 1200x30x8 Tasmanian oak piece was selected. The 1200mm length was bisected to create two end pieces and six internal channel parts. With spacing of 30mm between MDF sheets, there's approximately 101mm gap per vertical channel. Holes were drilled with a 70mm hole saw, at 50mm center from the bottom left corner and offset by 100mm for a total of 42 holes. The pieces are 100mm diameter cylinders, 25mm thick with embossed artwork on both ends. Initially, a solid prototype was printed with honeycomb fill, but later, faces were separated from the cylinder walls, reducing plastic usage to less than 2 meters per set of face and cylinder wall in multiple colors. This allows for 2-player games with distinct team colors.
