Garden clocks
thingiverse
My most daunting project yet - transforming a vintage gear into a modern wall clock marvel. The timekeeping engine is a compact radio-controlled unit measuring 5x5x2.5 cm in size, and I was concerned that its delicate mechanisms might struggle with the increased weight of heavier tick marks. To mitigate this risk, I paid close attention to how it would handle these added stresses. Numbers are straightforward - simple text extrusions created using OpenSCAD software were attached to a small clip, yielding surprisingly effective results. The digits adhere nicely to the metal wheel, although a few are slightly misaligned due to their placement on the grid or at an angle. The ABS material quickly became extremely fragile after exposure to direct sunlight.
