I remove clogs by putting a drain cover in place, blocking most utensils from falling into the disposal while letting water and food slide right through. After printing and installing mine two months ago, I'm glad to report that it works flawlessly. To get the best results though, you'll need to make sure it's smooth enough by sanding down the rough plastic surface so food particles don't stick.
