If you're not aware of how effortless it is to open a garage door with a standard garage door opener, then it's time to search for the information online. This shield only functions on older Genie doors, so check out the STL and Fusion360 drawings to ensure it's compatible with your garage door carriage. Print it out in whatever material you prefer and make sure to remove the handle from the rope hanging down. I have a short piece of wire hanging down, while my daughter simply removed the cord altogether and attached a little wire loop next to the door. Fusion360 files are available at http://a360.co/2wrK79Z. A common solution is to use a tie strap, but any skilled thief could create a loop in a coat hanger and easily open it.
