Garage Shield

The Garage Protector is designed to be attached to the lifting arm of an automatic garage door opener, complementing Thing 1765850 on Thingiverse when used together. The protector deflects a wire hook that someone might use to activate the Emergency Release Lever from outside your garage. It is secured in place by a #10 X 1" long machine screw (or 4mm X 25mm), washer, and nut. I used a nyloc nut to prevent it from loosening over time. The hardware should be tightened enough to squeeze the tabs on the lifting arm. This protector was designed for a Lift Arm that is 1.02" wide by .26" thick. Print Settings: Printer Brand: 3D Systems Printer: Cube 3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 200 Infill: 20% Notes: I printed this in PLA with a honeycomb infill. I will see how it holds up to the Arizona heat, and recommend using ABS for its higher heat deflection.
