Garage remote control button for GDV 6V3
thingiverse
The thick plastic pin from the center of my garage controller broke, so I fashioned a new one from ABS that fits perfectly in the socket. First, unscrew the cover, pull out any remaining old plastic, drop this button in place and screw everything back together again. That's it! The images show: 1) the issue, 2) the replacement button and 3) the finished result. I decided not to make a new case because doing that became too complicated with threads and mounting points for the circuit board inside. All I needed was a fresh button over the microswitch on the PCB, so I left the rest of the casing as it was. To keep this button in place, I created a flat base that attaches to the inside of the case, giving the button a curved top to match the shape of the original remote control.
