Garage Opener Wall Plate

I decided to take action against the gap showing behind my garage door opener. It was big enough for insects, spiders, and roaches to easily get inside, so I created a wall plate to cover it up. For now, I haven't figured out how I'm going to mount this new addition yet, but the draft print is very noticeable with lines visible to the naked eye. To fix this, I might dip it in polyurethane first to smooth things over, followed by a fresh coat of paint.
