Garage Door Sensor Hanger
thingiverse
I designed and built this mount to hold a magnetic sensor on our garage doors, which I connected to the GPIO inputs of a beaglebone. The sensor detects when the door is open and sends me a text message immediately. To secure the magnet in place, I screwed it onto the moving part of the door that rides along the belt/track, since the double-sided tape didn't last more than 5 minutes. I had to adjust the scaling settings multiple times to get the design to fit perfectly with my installation setup. The G-code file includes notes on the X, Y, and Z scaling factors I used.
