Garage Door Safety Sensor Sun-Shield

Garage Door Safety Sensor Sun-Shield

thingiverse

My garage door swings north-south, so around 1 pm the sun floods the safety sensor, blocking the garage door from closing. I could've easily swapped the transmitter/receiver or rigged a solution with a toilet paper roll and some duct tape, but I have a 3D printer at my disposal. This attachment clips onto the mount using two small binder clips, effectively blocking the sun's rays. The tube is tilted at a precise 30 degrees, allowing for manual adjustment courtesy of the flexible binder clip setup. The model was designed in Tinkercad; if you're interested, just let me know.
