This Lock secures the Emergency Release Lever for a garage door opener, thwarting a burglar's attempt to use a coat hanger to trigger the release and gain unauthorized entry. In conjunction with this device, it is recommended to remove the T-Handle on the end of the rope to prevent the malicious individual from ensnaring the rope. However, it is recommended to use PLA for optimal results. Assembly Instructions 1. Align the two parts by pressing them together. 2. Remove any existing rope from the release lever. 3. Thread the rope through the hole in the Lock. 4. Pass the rope through the release lever. 5. Insert the rope through the Plate. 6. Line up the pins on the Lock and Plate with their corresponding holes. 7. Press the two parts together firmly, using pliers if necessary. With this Lock in place, you can rest assured that your home is more secure and difficult to breach. The Emergency Release remains fully functional in case of a power outage or other emergency situation.
