Garage Door Opener End Stop Replacement Arm
thingiverse
The faulty end stop for my garage door opener had a warped arm that failed to align properly with the carriage, causing it to shatter into two pieces. To sidestep the hassle of purchasing an entire new unit, I opted to create a custom replacement part. A critical component in the original assembly was held in place by a brad that required drilling out before removal. In contrast, my fabricated replacement arm employs an M3 screw, which passes through the existing hole left vacant by the brad. This ensures a snug fit between the printed part and its accompanying nuts. Notably, this design allows for reuse of the original spring. After printing the new arm using TPU, I'm confident that it will withstand even the most strenuous demands without sustaining any damage. The reliability of the replacement piece seems virtually assured, rendering future breakage extremely unlikely.
