Garage Door Opener Case

Garage Door Opener Case

We have an OLD Sears garage door opener, and the case for my remote was falling apart and the button was making poor contact. I designed this case to fit the internal board and 9V battery, as well as a new button wired to the contacts. We only used the large button so the single momentary pushbutton is soldered to the contacts for that one, though you could add additional buttons for the other two. There is a hole for the LED to come through, and I actually sanded the LED down flush with the case to make it look neater. I could have tweaked my print settings to get a better finish, but I was in a hurry - nothing a little more sanding couldn't fix. The pack panel has mounts for the original visor clip and the back panel is just snapped in, but could be glued as well. Mine had a tight enough fit where I decided to just leave it unglued in case I need to change the battery. The button is mounted in place first with the included nut, then soldered to the contacts for the button on the circuit board. Then the circuit board is set in place so the LED protrudes out of the small hole and held in place with hot glue. The 9V battery is held down with a small spot of hot glue and then the back is snapped into place.
