Garage Door Handle
thingiverse
My Garage door handle broke. Not being able to find one that matches the second remaining door handle I decided it would be worth a shot to try and print a replacement look alike. It turned quite good. It is much stronger than I thought it would be and can even handle our South African Summer sun. I printed it laying on it's side length wise to improve the strength. I would advise using a bit of support, although I managed to print mine with no support. It did however require a bit om post processing when no support is used. My intention was however from the start to sand it down with 400 grid wet sandpaper and to give it few coats of spray paint. Worked like a charm and does not look printed at all. There are captive nut opening on the inside of the handle to allow for 2 x flat square roofing nuts to be used as lock nuts on either side.
