I built this to utilize a DMP 1106 Wireless Security Sensor on my Garage door. I did not want to install a traditional contact. As the garage door rises the arm assembly swings the magnet away from the internal contact. I created this as the few cents of plastic are cheaper than an armored contact and the labor to wire and install it any other way.
