Ganymede was a stunningly handsome Trojan prince who had himself spirited away to heaven by Zeus in the guise of an eagle where he was appointed as cup-bearer to the gods. Ganymedes was also placed among the stars as the constellation Aquarius, his ambrosial mixing cup as Crater, and the eagle as Aquila. Often portrayed as the god of homosexual love, Ganymedes appears as a companion to the love-gods Eros (Love) and Hymenaios (Hymenaeus) (Marital Love). This object is part of "Scan The World".
