Hello all, I'm building a DIY diode 15w TTL/PWM Diode Laser Cutter/Engraver. Here's my design for a gantry plate that's 10mm thick and fits snugly between 20x40 -20-60 aluminum profiles. Starting from the top: 1. Five millimeter holes create a border to keep the aluminum profile straight during operations. 2. Next, I've installed a NEMA 17 motor mount, measuring 40mm x 40mm in size. The five millimeter holes fit perfectly, with no hassle at all. 3. The bearing mounts are located on the outside of the NEMA 17 motor, also featuring five millimeter holes. 4. A slot at the bottom allows for easy adjustment to the bearings. Finally, I've created a spacer for the bearing wheels, which measures nine millimeters in diameter and five millimeters in width, with a length of seven point five millimeters.
